Strohmann builds the operating system for the data-driven firm.

One typed model of your business and two engines that act on it, running on machines you own.

A carrack under full sail crossing open ocean toward mountains on the horizon, printed in coloured dots

Firms have spent twenty years filling warehouses, lakes and dashboards. The dashboards report the past. When a real decision comes, to reroute a shipment, halt a batch or update a fleet, people step outside the software and act blind.

Data has to become operational: live, tied to the actions it allows, held under your own keys, and clear enough that a person can decide on it.

The thesis

An ontology is the format of operational data.

A business does not run on rows. It runs on things, what is true of them, how they connect, and what may be done to them.

Figure 1. Three entities, three relations, and the short list of actions allowed to change them.
Entities
The things that exist: a line, a vessel, a pump, a supplier.
Properties
What is true of them, each with its origin and sensitivity.
Relations
Which pump sits on which vessel, under which contract.
Governed actions
The verbs allowed to change anything. A second person approves; a model’s approval counts as zero.
The products

Named after the two things a proof is built from.

Where it runs

On your premises, air-gapped if the data may not leave.

Your data centre
The whole estate on hardware you already run.
A sovereign cloud
A German or EU provider of your choice.
A box at the edge
A factory server or a vessel, online or not.
